July 16: DIY in Bozeman

IMG_0284La bestia blanda needed some improvements, and the wonderful weather–which for me means partly cloudy, some wind and 75F–in Bozeman rendered it an ideal day for just that. After getting everything I needed from the local ACE Hardware store (which truly is becoming my favorite chain; according to its Wikipedia entry, “[t]he company was named after the ace fighter pilots of World War I, who were able to overcome all odds”), I installed two cable curtain rods, as well as a permanent fiberglass mesh cover for one of her rear sliding windows. The material for the curtains (“port wine burgundy”) came from Jo-Ann’s Fabric and Craft Store and cost me less than $10. Forty small S-hooks, secured with pliers, serve as sturdy curtain clips. Neither of these two DIY projects are visible on this photo–which I took last night after our first thorough housecleaning–but I promise that they’ll make an appearance in future posts.

IMG_0305This and the following photo are impressions of last night’s sunset.

IMG_0309The plan for tomorrow is to climb Montana’s very own Table Mountain (10,223ft). Hopefully the weather is as good as today’s.
